Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@thewfa/n8n-nodes-matchday

n8n community node package for the WFA MatchDay API, built on @thewfa/api-client.

Nodes

WFA MatchDay

Action node for reading MatchDay data: Match, Team, Club, Competition, Season, Search, and Health. Each resource supports List (with pagination and filters) and Get.

Requires WFA MatchDay API credentials (an API key, sent as x-api-key).

WFA MatchDay Trigger

Webhook trigger that starts a workflow on WFA MatchDay events (MatchStatusChanged, GoalScored, CardIssued, SubstitutionMade, PenaltyShootoutAttempt, MatchScoreCorrected). Verifies the Ed25519 signature (X-WFA-Signature) and timestamp freshness on every delivery before running the workflow; unverifiable or malformed deliveries get a non-2xx response so WFA retries them. WebhookPing deliveries are acknowledged without starting the workflow.

Requires WFA MatchDay Webhook credentials (the Ed25519 public key WFA issued for the subscription). Point the subscription's delivery URL at the webhook URL n8n shows on this node.

Testing

Or spin up a local n8n instance in Docker with the node installed:

./scripts/docker-install-node.sh

n8n will be available at http://localhost:5678. Re-run the script after making changes to rebuild, reinstall, and restart.

Development

npm run typecheck

CI runs lint, typecheck, build, and test on every push and pull request (.github/workflows/ci.yml).

Releasing

Releases are managed with Changesets:

npm run changeset

Describe the change and pick a bump type, then commit the generated file under .changeset/. Once that lands on main, the release workflow (.github/workflows/release.yml) opens a "Version Packages" PR; merging it publishes the new version to npm.

Publishing uses npm trusted publishing (OIDC) - no npm token is stored in this repo. npm requires a package to already exist before a Trusted Publisher can be attached to it, so the very first release has to be a manual npm publish from a machine logged in to the @thewfa npm org; after that, register a Trusted Publisher for @thewfa/n8n-nodes-matchday at https://www.npmjs.com/package/@thewfa/n8n-nodes-matchday/access, pointing at this repository and .github/workflows/release.yml.
