Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Synology Chat Channel for Chatons

Synology Chat bridge for Chatons. Connect to your Synology NAS chat service and sync messages.

Setup

Install this extension in Chatons
Open the Synology Chat view from the sidebar
Fill in your credentials:

Synology URL: e.g. https://nas.example.com:5001
Incoming Webhook URL: From Synology Chat > Integration > Incoming Webhooks
Outgoing Webhook Token: From Synology Chat > Integration > Outgoing Webhooks

Click Connect to start the bridge
Messages will automatically sync between Synology Chat and Chatons conversations

Automatic inbound message polling (every 5s)
Outbound reply mirroring back to Synology Chat
Per-conversation thread mapping
Model selection for AI responses

Architecture

This extension runs as a background service within Chatons:

Polls Synology Chat API for new messages
Creates/maps Chatons conversations for each chat
Mirrors assistant replies back to Synology Chat
Persists state via Chatons KV storage
