Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Authentication

Dual API key authentication. Both headers required on every request.

  • DD_API_KEY — Datadog API key (submits data)
  • DD_APP_KEY — Datadog Application key (reads data)

Keys are scoped to the Datadog organization, not individual users.

  • Rate limit: 300 requests/minute per API key
  • Metrics query (GET /api/v1/query) supports a max 24-hour window per request — split wider ranges into 24h chunks
  • Metrics query from and to are Unix timestamps in seconds, not milliseconds
  • Log search uses Datadog query syntax (not Lucene) — e.g., service:web status:error
