Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.0.9

WebAssembly implementation of TNID - high-performance ID generation compiled from Rust

Readme

@tnid/wasm

WebAssembly implementation of TNID, compiled from Rust for high performance.

Provides the same API as @tnid/core but uses a WASM backend. Includes encryption support built-in.

Installation

npm install @tnid/wasm

Usage

import { init, Tnid, type TnidType } from "@tnid/wasm";

// Initialize WASM (required once before using any functions)
await init();

// Create a typed TNID factory
const UserId = Tnid("user");
type UserId = TnidType<typeof UserId>;

// Generate IDs
const id: UserId = UserId.new_v0(); // time-ordered
const id2: UserId = UserId.new_v1(); // high-entropy random

console.log(id); // "user.Br2flcNDfF6LYICnT"

Encryption

Encryption is included (no separate package needed):

import { init, Tnid, EncryptionKey, encryptV0ToV1, decryptV1ToV0 } from "@tnid/wasm";

await init();

const UserId = Tnid("user");
const key = EncryptionKey.fromHex("0102030405060708090a0b0c0d0e0f10");

const v0 = UserId.new_v0();
const v1 = encryptV0ToV1(v0, key); // Encrypt to hide timestamp
const back = decryptV1ToV0(v1, key); // Decrypt to recover original

API

init(): Promise<void>

Initialize the WASM module. Must be called once before using any other functions.

Tnid(name)

Creates a typed TNID factory (same as @tnid/core).

DynamicTnid

Runtime TNID operations (same as @tnid/core).

EncryptionKey

  • EncryptionKey.fromHex(hex) - Create from 32-char hex string
  • EncryptionKey.fromBytes(bytes) - Create from 16-byte Uint8Array

encryptV0ToV1(tnid, key)

Encrypt a V0 TNID to V1 format.

decryptV1ToV0(tnid, key)

Decrypt a V1 TNID back to V0 format.

Platform Support

  • Node.js 20+
  • Deno 1.0+
  • Modern browsers (ES2020+)
