Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Keeper design system: React components, colour themes, icons and Tailwind tokens

Readme

@tonkeeper/ui-kit

The Keeper design system for React: components, colour themes, icons and Tailwind tokens.

npm install @tonkeeper/ui-kit

Requires React 18+. Browse every component and variant at ui-showcase.keeperwallet.com.

Setup

Import the stylesheet once at the app root and wrap the app in ThemeProvider:

import '@tonkeeper/ui-kit/styles.css';
import { Button, ThemeProvider } from '@tonkeeper/ui-kit';

export const App = () => (
    <ThemeProvider theme="blue">
        <Button variant="primaryBlue">Continue</Button>
    </ThemeProvider>
);

styles.css carries Tailwind's preflight reset, the design tokens, the bundled Inter face, the hosted brand face, and every utility the components use, so it works without Tailwind in the host app.

  • theme — blue, dark or light. The palette is written onto :root as --tk-* custom properties, so portalled content (modals, toasts) follows it too.
  • layout — desktop (modals are centred cards) or mobile (bottom sheets). Omitted, it follows the viewport: mobile below 1024px.

Fonts

Inter ships with the package. styles.css also imports the TT Firs Neue stylesheet from fonts.keeperwallet.com. The font stack uses TT Firs Neue first and falls back to Inter for uncovered glyphs. TT Firs Neue is licensed separately from the kit's Apache-2.0 code; its font files are hosted separately and are not included in the package. Browser access to the hosted fonts is limited to Keeper apps and their approved preview domains.

Icons

Each icon is its own module; import only what you use. Size and colour come from the call site.

import IcPlus28 from '@tonkeeper/ui-kit/icons/IcPlus28';

<IcPlus28 className="size-7 text-iconPrimary" />;

Tailwind

To style your own markup with the kit's tokens (bg-backgroundContent, text-label1, rounded-medium, …), add the preset:

// tailwind.config.ts
import kit from '@tonkeeper/ui-kit/tailwind-preset';

export default {
    presets: [kit],
    content: ['./src/**/*.{ts,tsx}']
};

Keep importing styles.css — it holds the classes the components themselves use and both font declarations.
