Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

@trackunit/react-map-draw

Provider-agnostic polygon drawing engine for the @trackunit/react-map family (ADR 0030). It implements the DrawPort contract from @trackunit/react-map-adapter-shared on top of Terra Draw, so the Google Maps and Mapbox GL adapters share one drawing implementation and only contribute a thin bridge each.

Installation

npm install @trackunit/react-map-draw

You normally do not install this package directly: @trackunit/react-map-adapter-google and @trackunit/react-map-adapter-mapbox depend on it. Feature code uses useDraw(api) from @trackunit/react-map and never sees Terra Draw.

What lives here

  • DrawController — the DrawPort implementation. Holds the controlled mode and value, notifies subscribers, and lazily loads the Terra Draw engine the first time drawing is needed. On every adapter reconnect (Google Maps recreates the map on theme and traffic changes; Mapbox GL drops custom layers on setStyle) the controller rebuilds the engine from the committed value.
  • loadTerraDrawEngine — dynamic-imports Terra Draw and wires polygon and select modes, styling, and the committed-value change pipeline. Adapters call it with a Terra Draw provider adapter built from their native map object.
  • normalizeDrawValue / drawValuesEqual — value hygiene shared by the controller and the engine: only single-ring Polygon features are kept.

This package never imports a map adapter or a provider SDK. Terra Draw itself is only loaded through a dynamic import() when a map enters a drawing mode or receives a non-empty value, so consumers that never draw never download it.
