Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@ts-drp/keychain

The @ts-drp/keychain package provides a simple interface for generating and managing cryptographic keys used in the DRP (Distributed Real-Time Programs) protocol. It utilizes the @chainsafe/bls library for generating BLS (Boneh-Lynn-Shacham) keys and the @noble/secp256k1 library for generating Secp256k1 keys.

Installation

You can install the package using npm or pnpm:

npm install @ts-drp/keychain

or

pnpm add @ts-drp/keychain

Usage

Import the Keychain class from the package:

import { Keychain } from "@ts-drp/keychain";

Create a new instance of the Keychain class:

const keychain = new Keychain();

You can optionally provide a configuration object with a private_key_seed property. If provided, the keychain will generate deterministic keys based on the seed. Otherwise, it will generate random keys:

const keychain = new Keychain({ private_key_seed: "my-secret-seed" });

Before using the keychain, you need to start it:

await keychain.start();

The Keychain class provides the following methods:

signWithSecp256k1(data: string)

Signs the provided data using the Secp256k1 private key and returns the signature as a Uint8Array.

const data = "Hello, World!";
const signature = await keychain.signWithSecp256k1(data);
console.log(signature);
// Output: Uint8Array(64) [...]

signWithBls(data: string)

Signs the provided data using the BLS private key and returns the signature as a Uint8Array.

const data = "Hello, World!";
const signature = keychain.signWithBls(data);
console.log(signature);
// Output: Uint8Array(48) [...]

secp256k1PublicKey

A getter property that returns the Secp256k1 public key as a base64-encoded string.

const secpPublicKey = keychain.secp256k1PublicKey;
console.log("Secp256k1 Public Key:", secpPublicKey);
// Output: Base64 encoded string representing the Secp256k1 public key.

blsPublicKey

A getter property that returns the Bls public key as a base64-encoded string.

const blsPublicKey = keychain.blsPublicKey;
console.log("Bls Public Key:", blsPublicKey);
// Output: Base64 encoded string representing the Bls public key.

secp256k1PrivateKey

A getter property that returns the raw Secp256k1 private key as a Uint8Array.

const privateKey = keychain.secp256k1PrivateKey;
console.log(privateKey);
// Output: Uint8Array(32) [...]
