Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

twelvebit analytics for web apps: page views, goals, identify and revenue hints. Zero dependencies, SSR-safe.

@twelvebit/web

twelvebit analytics for web apps built with npm: page views (with SPA navigation), goals, identify and payment hints. It sends the same events as the twelvebit script. No dependencies, TypeScript types included, safe to import on the server.

Set up with your coding agent

Paste this prompt into Claude Code, Codex or Cursor in your project:

Add twelvebit analytics with the @twelvebit/web package.
Read https://twelvebit.app/docs/sdks.md first and follow it.
1. Install it: npm i @twelvebit/web
2. Start it once in the browser with my site id (tb_…, from the twelvebit dashboard). In React or Next.js,
   put <TwelvebitProvider> from "@twelvebit/web/react" in the root layout.
3. Track 3 to 8 important actions with track("snake_case_name"), and call identify() after sign-in
   and reset() at logout.
4. Do not also add the twelvebit <script> tag: one of the two, or each page view counts two times.
Then tell me which events you added and where.

Install

npm i @twelvebit/web

Use

import { initTwelvebit, track, identify, reset } from "@twelvebit/web";

initTwelvebit({ siteId: "tb_YOUR_SITE_ID", domain: "example.com" });
track("signup", { plan: "pro" });
identify("user_42", { email: "[email protected]" });
reset(); // at logout

React and Next.js:

import { TwelvebitProvider, useTwelvebit } from "@twelvebit/web/react";

<TwelvebitProvider config={{ siteId: "tb_YOUR_SITE_ID" }}>{children}</TwelvebitProvider>;
const tb = useTwelvebit(); // tb.track("upgrade_click")

Entry points

| Import | What it has | |---|---| | @twelvebit/web | initTwelvebit, track, pageview, identify, payment, reset, flush, getVisitorId, getTrackingParams, buildCrossDomainUrl, createTwelvebit | | @twelvebit/web/react | TwelvebitProvider, useTwelvebit (needs react 17 or later) |

ESM and CommonJS builds, with .d.ts types for both.
