Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@ui-construction-library/integration-tanstack-query

v0.4.3

Published

TanStack Query integration for @ui-construction-library — query-backed data components.

Readme

@ui-construction-library/integration-tanstack-query

TanStack Query adapter for the UI Construction Library. Provides data-driven components that wire @tanstack/react-query queries and mutations to core UI components.

When to use

Use this package when your project uses @tanstack/react-query and you want:

  • QueryBoundary — handles loading, error, and empty states declaratively
  • QueryTable — renders a DataTable backed by a query
  • QueryList — renders a list backed by a query
  • AsyncDataTable — paginated, filterable table with server-side data fetching

Installation

pnpm add @ui-construction-library/core @ui-construction-library/integration-tanstack-query @tanstack/react-query

Peer dependencies

{
  "react": ">=18.0.0",
  "react-dom": ">=18.0.0",
  "@tanstack/react-query": ">=5.0.0"
}

Minimal example

import { QueryClient, QueryClientProvider } from '@tanstack/react-query';
import { QueryBoundary } from '@ui-construction-library/integration-tanstack-query';
import { DataTable } from '@ui-construction-library/core';

const queryClient = new QueryClient();

function UsersPage() {
  return (
    <QueryClientProvider client={queryClient}>
      <QueryBoundary queryKey={['users']} queryFn={() => fetch('/api/users').then(r => r.json())}>
        {(data) => (
          <DataTable
            columns={[
              { key: 'name', header: 'Name' },
              { key: 'email', header: 'Email' },
            ]}
            data={data}
          />
        )}
      </QueryBoundary>
    </QueryClientProvider>
  );
}

Components

| Component | Description | |---|---| | QueryBoundary | Renders children only when data is available. Shows Spinner during loading, empty state for empty arrays, and error state on failure. | | QueryTable | Combines QueryBoundary + DataTable. Accepts a query configuration and column definitions. | | QueryList | Renders a list of items from a query with loading, empty, and error states. | | AsyncDataTable | DataTable with server-side pagination, sorting, and filtering. |

Compatibility

  • React 18 and 19
  • @tanstack/react-query 5.x
  • TypeScript 5.x and 6.x

Public API

import { QueryBoundary, QueryTable, QueryList, AsyncDataTable } from '@ui-construction-library/integration-tanstack-query';

Troubleshooting

Data not loading — confirm QueryClientProvider is added to your component tree above any QueryBoundary or QueryTable.

Loading state never resolves — check that your queryFn returns a promise and that the query key matches between the provider and consumer.
