Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server that lets AI assistants search and fetch real UIX Icons by exact name.

UIX Icons for AI assistants (MCP)

The largest library of unique modern icons. Free and open source.

This MCP server lets an AI assistant pick a real UIX icon by its exact name, then fetch it as SVG, a React (JSX) component or a URL. The assistant searches first and only uses names the search returns, so it never invents an icon that does not exist.

Add it

Claude Code:

claude mcp add uix-icons -- npx -y @uix-ui/icons-mcp

Claude Desktop, Cursor and other clients (mcpServers in the client config):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "uix-icons": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@uix-ui/icons-mcp"],
      "env": { "UIX_LICENSE_KEY": "UIX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX" }
    }
  }
}

UIX_LICENSE_KEY is only needed for the Pro styles. Leave it out to use the free styles.

Tools

| Tool | What it does | |---|---| | search_icons({query, style?, limit?}) | Finds icons by meaning (name, synonyms, tags). Returns real names, best match first. | | get_icon({name, style?, format?, size?, color?}) | Returns one icon. format is svg (default), jsx or url. size is 8 to 512 px, color any CSS color. | | list_icon_styles() | Lists the style ids with their tier, free or pro. |

Only names returned by search_icons exist. A name that is not in the library is refused with the closest real names.

Settings

| Variable | Meaning | |---|---| | UIX_LICENSE_KEY | UIX Pro license key. Pro styles are fetched from https://icons.pagestro.com/api/icon/<style>/<name>.svg, which checks the key against the UIX Pro subscription. | | UIX_ICONS_DIR | A folder with svg/<style>/<name>.svg and search/icons.search.json, from node src/publish.mjs build. With it the free styles work offline. Without it they are fetched from the site. | | UIX_ICONS_ORIGIN | The site to fetch from. Default https://icons.pagestro.com. |

License

MIT for this server and the free styles (Regular Rounded, Regular Sharp, Solid). The Pro styles are a paid subscription.
