Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

The ungic admin panel, prebuilt: a standalone SPA (dist/app) that boots from the core's GET /api/admin/bootstrap, plus serveAdmin(app) to mount it on a Hono app in one line.

@ungic/admin

The ungic admin panel, prebuilt: a single-page app that boots at runtime from the CMS's GET /api/admin/bootstrap (schema, admin config, branding, staff permissions), plus serveAdmin(app) to mount it on a Hono app.

import { serveAdmin } from '@ungic/admin';
serveAdmin(app);                 // /admin/ → the panel
serveAdmin(app, { base: '/cp' }); // anywhere else

The ungic CLI mounts it for you (ungic dev, ungic start). Custom admin pages and field editors are React components in the Site's admin/ folder, registered in ungic.config.ts (admin.customPages, admin.customFields) and compiled and served by the CLI; type a field editor with import type { FieldEditorProps } from '@ungic/admin'.

They can use the panel's own components, so they look like the rest of the admin:

// admin/tracking-field.tsx
import type { FieldEditorProps } from '@ungic/admin';
import { Button, Input } from '@ungic/admin/components';

export default function TrackingField({ id, value, onChange, disabled }: FieldEditorProps) {
  return (
    <span style={{ display: 'flex', gap: 8 }}>
      <Input id={id} value={typeof value === 'string' ? value : ''} disabled={disabled} onChange={(e) => onChange(e.target.value)} />
      <Button size="sm" disabled={disabled} onClick={() => onChange(`TRK-${Date.now().toString(36)}`)}>New code</Button>
    </span>
  );
}

@ungic/admin/components exports PageHeader, Button, Input, Textarea, Field, Select, Switch, Checkbox, Menu, Notice, Badge, EmptyState and useAdmin() (the panel's locale, direction, read-only state and permissions). The package carries their types (they need @types/react); the code is the running panel's: the CLI leaves the import as it is and the admin page's import map resolves it, so nothing of the panel is bundled into your module. Imported anywhere but inside the admin, it throws.
