Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server for Upgoose — let your AI coding agent read your production errors, stack traces and AI diagnosis, and resolve them

Readme

@upgoose/mcp

MCP server for Upgoose — lets your AI coding agent read the errors your users are actually hitting, with full stack traces, breadcrumbs, release info and Upgoose's AI diagnosis, then resolve them once it ships a fix.

Setup

Create a token at upgoose.app/settings → API tokens, then point your agent at the server.

Claude Code

claude mcp add upgoose --env UPGOOSE_TOKEN=ugt_... -- npx -y @upgoose/mcp

Anything that reads an MCP config file (Cursor .cursor/mcp.json, VS Code .vscode/mcp.json, Windsurf ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json, Claude Code .mcp.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "upgoose": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@upgoose/mcp"],
      "env": { "UPGOOSE_TOKEN": "ugt_..." }
    }
  }
}

Tools

| Tool | What it does | | --- | --- | | list_projects | Projects in the account, with ids and whether error tracking is on | | list_error_groups | Production errors, newest activity first; unresolved by default | | get_error_group | One error in full — stack traces, breadcrumbs, tags, release, AI diagnosis and suggested fix | | set_error_group_status | Resolve or ignore up to 25 groups |

Environment

| Variable | Required | Default | | --- | --- | --- | | UPGOOSE_TOKEN | yes | — | | UPGOOSE_API_URL | no | https://api.upgoose.app |

The token

UPGOOSE_TOKEN is a secret. It grants read access to every error in the account and the ability to change error status, so treat it like any other API credential: keep it in the MCP config or your shell profile, not in committed source.

It is deliberately not the same thing as a project's DSN. The DSN (https://<key>@api.upgoose.app/<id>) is public — it ships inside your frontend bundle — and it can only write error events. A DSN key will not authenticate this server.

Revoking a token in Settings takes effect on the next request.
