Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Typed Cortex integration: streaming answers, retrieval, citations and authenticated PDF evidence.

Uthereal Cortex SDK

The official TypeScript SDK for Uthereal Cortex adds grounded answers and retrieval from your knowledge base to an application. Cortex returns structured evidence with durable references and claim-level citations. This SDK handles streaming, ownership-aware persistence, and cited PDF pages with highlights.

Start here: Integration guide · API contract · Replay fixtures · Contributing

Install

pnpm add --save-exact @uthereal-sdk/[email protected]
// Backend only
import { createCortexHandler } from "@uthereal-sdk/cortex/server";
// Browser
import { createCortexBrowserClient } from "@uthereal-sdk/cortex/browser";

The package is ESM and includes JavaScript and TypeScript declarations. Core, server and browser consumers install only Zod transitively. React and Supabase are optional; install the peers for your selected entry points as described in INTEGRATING.md. npm users can use npm install with the same package and version. Releases are published to npm; pnpm is a package manager.

Try it without credentials

git clone --branch v1.1.0 https://github.com/Uthereal-Labs/Uthereal-Cortex-SDK.git
cd Uthereal-Cortex-SDK
pnpm install --frozen-lockfile
pnpm test
pnpm check:edge
pnpm build
pnpm dev

Open http://localhost:5173/?replay for synthetic cited answers, retrieval results, and a PDF highlight. Live mode requires your own application’s Supabase project and a Cortex agent/key; follow the integration guide.

Requirements: Node 22.22.1+, pnpm 10.33.0 and Deno 2. The runnable example uses React 19 and Vite. The reusable components support React 18/19. Other bundlers must configure the matching PDF.js worker; their compatibility is not certified here.

Integrate with your coding agent

Copy this prompt into Lovable, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, or another coding tool:

Integrate Cortex using https://github.com/Uthereal-Labs/Uthereal-Cortex-SDK/tree/v1.1.0.
Read INTEGRATING.md and examples/README.md at that revision first.
Preserve this app’s instructions, auth, history, quotas and UI conventions.
Install @uthereal-sdk/[email protected] with this app’s package manager.
Reuse /server on the backend, /browser in the frontend, /core for helpers,
and /react for optional citation UI. Install only the required optional peers.
Keep CORTEX_SHARED_API_KEY in server secrets only.
Map authentication and storage using CortexActor and CortexStore.
Use my assistant ID and API base from Cortex Share’s integration instructions.
Run the SDK checks and the host application’s checks. Report fixture and live
verification separately. Do not overwrite this application’s agent instructions.

For source-copy integrations, clone/download the pinned GitHub release and copy sdk/ intact. Record the revision and install its dependencies. Existing source users can keep their current revision until deliberately upgrading.

Choose the pieces you need

| Entry point | Use | | --- | --- | | @uthereal-sdk/cortex/server | Server-only Fetch handler, auth/store contracts and low-level client | | @uthereal-sdk/cortex/browser | Authenticated calls to your application's backend | | @uthereal-sdk/cortex/core | Browser-safe types, validators, stream and citation helpers | | @uthereal-sdk/cortex/react | Optional cited-answer and PDF evidence components | | @uthereal-sdk/cortex/adapters/* | Optional Supabase auth and persistence adapters |

Core/server/browser need zod 3.23.8. React evidence additionally needs React 18/19, TanStack Query 5, React-PDF 9.1.1 and its matching PDF.js 4.4.168 worker. The installed package includes the matching worker and scoped CSS. Supabase adapters additionally need @supabase/supabase-js 2.104.0. Use the pinned example dependencies as the tested baseline; keep your app's React version.

Ask returns full utterance snapshots; merge references and claims instead of concatenating answer text. RAG returns JSON evidence and does not grant cited-PDF access. The browser never receives a Cortex API key. Supabase is optional: implement authenticate and CortexStore for your existing backend.

Cortex handles multiple source formats. This release renders PDF highlights and textual evidence; it preserves additional metadata without promising a custom viewer for every media type.

Development

pnpm verify checks generated types, formatting/lint, fixtures, the Edge handler, and the production build. See CONTRIBUTING.md for contract updates and SECURITY.md for reporting vulnerabilities.
