Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

HTML Drag and Drop Simulator

Circle CI npm version

HTML Drag and Drop Simulator for E2E testing.

Now, WebDriver cannot handle HTML Drag and Drop. This module can simulate the HTML Drag and Drop by using the Execute Script command.

This module is like rcorreia/drag_and_drop_helper.js, but it does not require jQuery.

Install

npm install --save-dev html-dnd

Compatibility

Sauce Test Status

Usage

The first two arguments are required and are the draggable and droppable elements or reference to elements depends on the library the script runs in. see examples below.

The third argument is dndSimulateConfig and it is mandatory. It includes two mandatory configs: dragOffset and dropOffset. If present, they will offset the mouse by the specified position at the relevant DND events. Otherwise, the mouse will be centered for the omitted configs.

Both of the configs expect an array with the size of 2 that determines offset left and top from the top and left of the relevant elements.

var dndSimulateConfig = {
  dragOffset: [100, 200],
  dropOffset: [20, 30]
};

For selenium-webdriver

var dragAndDrop = require('html-dnd').code;
var webdriver = require('selenium-webdriver');
var By = webdriver.By;

var driver = new webdriver.Builder()
  .forBrowser('firefox')
  .build();

driver.get('http://example.com');

var draggable = driver.findElement(By.id('draggable'));
var droppable = driver.findElement(By.id('droppable'));

var dndSimulateConfig = {
  dragOffset: [100, 200],
  dropOffset: [20, 30]
};

driver.executeScript(dragAndDrop, draggable, droppable, dndSimulateConfig);

driver.quit();

For WebdriverIO

var dragAndDrop = require('html-dnd').codeForSelectors;
var webdriverio = require('webdriverio');
var options = { desiredCapabilities: { browserName: 'chrome' } };
var client = webdriverio.remote(options);

client
  .init()
  .url('http://example.com')
  .execute(dragAndDrop, '#draggable', '#droppable')
  .end();

For Nightwatch.js

var dragAndDrop = require('html-dnd').codeForSelectors;

module.exports = {
  'drag and drop': function(browser) {

    var dndSimulateConfig = {
      dragOffset: [20, 30]
    };

    browser
      .url('http://example.com')
      .execute(dragAndDrop, ['#draggable', '#droppable', dndSimulateConfig])
      .end();
  }
};

With Typescript

import {code as dragAndDrop, DndSimulateConfig} from 'html-dnd';

var dndSimulateConfig: DndSimulateConfig = {
  dropOffset: [20, 20]
};

driver.executeScript(dragAndDrop, draggable, droppable, dndSimulateConfig);
