Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

This is a message-passing abstraction layer implemented by Typescript. Its purpose is to encapsulate the details of messaging, allowing js to construct classes that exist in different contexts and call methods in different contexts in an idiomatic way.

💪 Features

  1. Encapsulation: Encapsulates communication details and provides consistent upper-layer APIs
  2. Isolation: Data is securely isolated in different channel-ids.
  3. API: Idiomatic API, remote calls are as simple as ordinary asynchronous calls, support callback functions, and exception handling is consistent with ordinary asynchronous methods
  4. Parallel: support decomposing tasks into multiple target contexts for parallel execution
  5. Extension: support custom communicator to for more features

🔌 Install

npm i -s @vgerbot/channel

Then install @vgerbot/channel-transformer, this is to simplify stuffs and make channel APIs more convenient to use

npm i -D @vgerbot/channel-transformer

🛴 Supported parameter types

Like the postMessage API, it supports all types that can be cloned using the structured clone algorithm. For more detailed description, please refer toThe structured clone algorithm In addition to supporting the parameter types of postMessage, remote objects and callback functions are also supported, but these two types cannot be nested in other objects.
