Semantic-release plugin to generate man pages from CLI --help output.

Config

Usage

In .releaserc.yml:

plugins:
  - '@semantic-release/commit-analyzer'
  - '@semantic-release/release-notes-generator'
  - - '@vmvarela/semantic-release-manpage'
      source: bin/my-cli
  - '@semantic-release/github'

If source ends with .1, the file is copied as-is into dist/.

Otherwise, the plugin runs {source} --help, captures the output, wraps it in a minimal man page template, and writes dist/{basename}.1.

Requirements

• Node.js >= 24
• The source path must exist at verifyConditions time
