Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Vite plugin for Foundry VTT v14+ packages: browser ESM output with no hashing, CSS bundled, manifest copied with the version synced.

Readme

@vttforge/vite-plugin

The build contract for a Foundry VTT v14+ system or module, as a Vite plugin.

bun add -D @vttforge/vite-plugin vite
// vite.config.mjs
import vttforge from '@vttforge/vite-plugin';
import { defineConfig } from 'vite';

export default defineConfig({
  plugins: [vttforge({ id: 'my-system', kind: 'system', entry: 'scripts/main.ts' })],
});

What it does

  • Emits browser ES modules into dist/ with no hashed filenames. Foundry loads files by the fixed paths in the manifest.
  • Keeps class names through minification, so a sheet registered by class name keeps its key between builds. Prefer registerSystem({ sheets }) with an id; this is the fallback.
  • Bundles CSS into one stylesheet and rewrites the manifest's styles and esmodules to the emitted paths.
  • Copies the manifest under Foundry's filename (system.json / module.json) with version synced from package.json.
  • Copies template.json, lang/, templates/ and packs/ unchanged, plus every directory the manifest's packs[].path names. Override the list with staticAssets.
  • Emits external source maps with the sources embedded.

Options

| Option | Default | Meaning | |---|---|---| | id | required | The package id. Must match the manifest and the folder Foundry serves it from | | kind | 'system' | 'system' or 'module'. Sets the base path (/systems/<id>/ vs /modules/<id>/) and the manifest filename | | entry | 'scripts/main.mjs' | Entry script, relative to the project root | | manifest | system.json / module.json | Manifest path, relative to the project root | | staticAssets | ['template.json', 'lang', 'templates', 'packs'], plus the directory of every packs[].path the manifest declares | Files and directories copied into dist/ before each build |

Peer: vite ^8. Node 26+.

vttforge dev and vttforge build from @vttforge/cli run this plugin for you.
