Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

A set of Esri-Leaflet components for Vue, utilizing the Vuex plugin and Vueaflet

Readme

Esri-Vueaflet

This library (or set of components) uses Vueaflet as its primary dependency. Similar to how Vueaflet provides a "vuetified" approach to handling Leaflet objects, Esri-Vueaflet provides the same methodology for handling Esri-Leaflet objects. All objects are managed in a Vuex store, providing the developer easy access from anywhere in their Vue application.

This project is currently in development with ZERO test coverage! Use at your own risk :)

BREAKING CHANGES going to v2.0.0

  • esri-leaflet, esri-leaflet-cluster and leaflet.markercluster need to be installed separately
  • @vueaflet/core is no longer a dependency, but needs to be installed separately

Getting Started

npm install --save @vueaflet/core
yarn add @vueaflet/core

npm install --save @vueaflet/esri
yarn add @vueaflet/esri

Esri-Vueaflet will npm install vueaflet as well. However, you must Vue.use() both Esri-Vueaflet and Vueaflet. Assuming you are using a vue-cli template, your src/main.js will look something like this:

import Vue from 'vue'
import App from './App'
import store from 'store'
import Vueaflet from '@vueaflet/core' // core comes as a dependency of @vueaflet/esri
import EsriVueaflet from '@vueaflet/esri'

// attaches a 'vueaflet' module into your Vuex store
Vue.use(Vueaflet, { store })
Vue.use(EsriVueaflet)

new Vue({
  el: '#app',
  store,
  template: '<App/>',
  components: { App }
})

NOTE: This library relies on Vuex in order to store your Leaflet objects.

Code Examples

These simple examples mirror the examples found in the Esri-Leaflet documentation

More examples coming soon!

Quick Start Guide

Coming soon! Will provide a full walk through to take advantage of all sorts of Esri-Leaflet features, working with events, working with queries, and managing your Esri-Leaflet objects using Vuex.

Events

Pass in an array events (as strings) that are supported by the esri layer type. There is a "ready" event that is handle by EsriVueaflet for you :). Each Leaflet supported event $emits back an { event, layer } object:

<template>
  <div class="example-map">
    <l-map :mapId="mapId" :events="['click']" v-on:click="handleMapClick">
      ...

      <e-cluster-feature-layer
        v-bind="featureLayerOptions"
        :events="['clusterclick']"
        enable-bus
        v-on:clusterclick="handleClusterClick"/>

      ...
    </l-map>
  </div>
</template>

...

Additionaly, you can pass a boolean prop called enabled-bus which will also attach each event passed in the array of events to property attached to each component as this.$vueafletBus. See the EventSibling.vue component as an example.
