Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Blaze Web SDK MCP Server

AI-powered integration assistant for the Blaze Web SDK (@wscsports/blaze-web-sdk).

This MCP (Model Context Protocol) server provides contextual SDK guidance directly in your IDE, enabling AI assistants (Cursor, Claude Desktop, VS Code) to give accurate, project-specific help with Blaze SDK integration.

Setup

Cursor IDE

Add to your project's .cursor/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blaze-web-sdk": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@wscsports/blaze-web-sdk-mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Claude Desktop

Add to ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json (macOS) or %APPDATA%\Claude\claude_desktop_config.json (Windows):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blaze-web-sdk": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@wscsports/blaze-web-sdk-mcp"]
    }
  }
}

VS Code (with MCP support)

Add to your workspace .vscode/mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blaze-web-sdk": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@wscsports/blaze-web-sdk-mcp"]
    }
  }
}

What It Does

Once configured, the AI assistant in your IDE can:

  • Analyze your project — scans your code for SDK installation, initialization patterns, and common mistakes
  • Generate components — creates framework-specific, copy-paste-ready Blaze SDK components (React, Next.js, Vue, Angular, vanilla JS)
  • Validate configuration — checks your IBlazeSDKOptions against the real schema with actionable error messages
  • Provide API reference — returns accurate function signatures, parameter types, and descriptions
  • Guide theming — provides the full theme object structure for stories, moments, and videos
  • Troubleshoot issues — diagnoses common problems like widgets not rendering, SSR errors, and container mismatches

Available Tools

| Tool | Description | |------|-------------| | analyze_project | Scans your project for SDK integration issues | | get_setup_guide | Framework-specific setup instructions | | get_widget_guide | Widget configuration guide and examples | | get_config_reference | IBlazeSDKOptions reference | | get_theme_reference | Theme object structure per content type | | validate_config | Validates configuration objects | | generate_component | Generates framework-specific components | | get_event_reference | Delegation events documentation |

Example Prompts

After setup, try asking your AI assistant:

  • "Set up the Blaze SDK in my React project"
  • "Create a row widget showing story thumbnails"
  • "Why isn't my widget rendering?"
  • "What theme options are available for moments?"
  • "Generate a Next.js component for a video grid"
  • "Validate my SDK configuration"
