Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Pi extension — welcome banner with startup health checks.

What it does

Renders a coloured ASCII π logo above the editor on session start and runs startup health checks in parallel while the banner is visible. Checks include: Pi version, auth status (at least one provider configured), loaded model + tool + skill counts, and gitignore hygiene (auto-adds .pi/ to .gitignore in git repos). Each check updates the banner live as results arrive, showing ✓/⚠/✗ and a brief status. The banner auto-dismisses on the first user turn. No configuration required.

Install

pi install npm:@xynogen/pix-welcome

Bundled in @xynogen/pix-core. Install it alone only if you do not use pix-core.

This package is part of Pix. The installer sets up Pi and the full distro. See Install for the notes for each OS.
