Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.1.0

Published

Pi extension exposing stable CodeGraph structural-code navigation tools.

Readme

@yishan-io/pi-codegraph

A Pi package that provides the frozen CodeGraph structural-code navigation tool contract.

Prerequisites

Install the codegraph CLI and initialize CodeGraph in the project that Pi will inspect. The project must contain an initialized .codegraph directory before CodeGraph can return indexed results.

codegraph init

Install

Install the package with npm when you use its exported extension factory in your own integration:

npm install @yishan-io/pi-codegraph

To install it as a Pi package, run:

pi install npm:@yishan-io/pi-codegraph

Tools

The package registers these eight tools:

  • codegraph_search — Search indexed symbols by name, kind, or structural-code query.
  • codegraph_callers — Find symbols that call a selected symbol.
  • codegraph_callees — Find symbols called by a selected symbol.
  • codegraph_impact — Analyze the structural impact of changing a symbol.
  • codegraph_explore — Explore code structure for a natural-language query.
  • codegraph_node — Inspect an indexed symbol and optionally include its source code.
  • codegraph_status — Show CodeGraph index and project status.
  • codegraph_files — List indexed project files in tree, flat, or grouped format.

Use with Pi

After installation, start Pi in the initialized project directory:

pi

To load the npm package for one Pi invocation without installing it permanently, run:

pi -e npm:@yishan-io/pi-codegraph

The extension launches a short-lived native MCP session for each tool call. It terminates the CodeGraph process tree after the call completes, fails, or times out.

Programmatic usage

Register the extension with an existing Pi ExtensionAPI instance:

import type { ExtensionAPI } from "@earendil-works/pi-coding-agent";
import { createPiCodeGraphExtension } from "@yishan-io/pi-codegraph";

export function registerCodeGraph(pi: ExtensionAPI): void {
  createPiCodeGraphExtension(pi);
}

Development

bun run --cwd packages/pi-codegraph typecheck
bun run --cwd packages/pi-codegraph lint
bun run --cwd packages/pi-codegraph test
