Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

@yome-network/dozor-sdk

v0.1.2

Published

Readme

@yome-network/dozor-sdk

npm version

Typed SDK for Dozor signal ingestion API (POST /signal) with runtime validation, normalized error model, and pluggable transports.

Install

npm install @yome-network/dozor-sdk

Quick Start

import { createDozorClient, HttpDozorTransport } from "@yome-network/dozor-sdk";

const client = createDozorClient({
  transport: new HttpDozorTransport({ baseUrl: "http://your-dozor-host:3008" }),
});

const result = await client.sendSignal({
  component: "catalog",
  severity: "WARNING",
  source: "runtime-error:read-model",
  occurredAt: new Date().toISOString(),
  idempotencyKey: "catalog:runtime:warning:12345",
});

if (!result.ok) {
  console.warn("signal rejected", result.httpStatus, result.body);
}

What sendSignal Guarantees

DozorClient#sendSignal(payload, options?):

  • validates request payload before sending
  • sends through configured transport
  • validates response schema after receiving
  • returns typed result for 200, 202, 400, 404, 429
  • throws normalized typed errors:
    • DozorValidationError
    • DozorTransportError
    • DozorProtocolError

Retry Policy

Global retry policy:

const client = createDozorClient({
  transport: new HttpDozorTransport({ baseUrl: "http://localhost:3008" }),
  retryPolicy: {
    maxAttempts: 3,
    baseDelayMs: 100,
    maxDelayMs: 1_000,
    backoffMultiplier: 2,
  },
});

Per-call override:

await client.sendSignal(payload, {
  retryPolicy: { maxAttempts: 5 },
});

Observability Hooks and Logger

const client = createDozorClient({
  transport: new HttpDozorTransport({ baseUrl: "http://localhost:3008" }),
  hooks: {
    onRequest: ({ redactedRequest, attempt }) => {
      console.info("dozor request", { redactedRequest, attempt });
    },
    onResponse: ({ responseStatus, result }) => {
      console.info("dozor response", { responseStatus, ok: result.ok });
    },
    onError: ({ error, willRetry }) => {
      console.error("dozor error", { error, willRetry });
    },
  },
  logger: {
    warn: (message, context) => console.warn(message, context),
    debug: (message, context) => console.debug(message, context),
  },
  redaction: {
    fields: ["idempotencyKey"],
    replacement: "[REDACTED]",
  },
});

Transport Extensibility

The client works with any transport implementing DozorTransport.

Included now:

  • HttpDozorTransport

Planned extensions:

  • MqTransport
  • WsTransport

Local Integration Tests

DOZOR_INTEGRATION_BASE_URL=http://localhost:3008 npm run test:integration

Optional known component check:

DOZOR_INTEGRATION_BASE_URL=http://localhost:3008 \
DOZOR_INTEGRATION_COMPONENT=api \
npm run test:integration

Release

  • Published to npm as @yome-network/dozor-sdk.
  • Releases are created from git tags matching sdk-v*.
  • Versioning follows Semantic Versioning.
