Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Orca completion marks and AI-generated tab titles for the Pi coding agent

Completion marks and AI-generated Orca tab titles for the Pi coding agent.

Orca already shows its own spinner and plays its own completion sound, but every Pi tab is still labelled Pi. This extension names each tab after what the session is actually doing, so Pi becomes Fix OAuth callback, and prefixes it with 🔔 when the agent finishes.

The mark clears automatically after you select the tab, or when the agent starts working again. No extra completion sound is played.

Install

pi install npm:@yukikisaku/pi-orca-status

It activates only inside Orca (ORCA_PANE_KEY) and stays completely inactive anywhere else.

Orca normalises Pi's terminal title to Pi for its own status display, so the tab label is set through the Orca CLI. When the CLI is unavailable the extension falls back to the terminal title.

Commands

/rename regenerate the tab title from the whole conversation
/rename Fix OAuth callback set the tab title explicitly

/pi-orca open the settings menu

Use the arrow keys to move, Enter or Space to change a value, and Escape to close the menu. String and number settings open an input screen. Changes are applied and saved immediately. Any arguments to /pi-orca are ignored, so it always opens the same menu.

Settings live in ~/.pi/agent/pi-orca.json.

Title generation

Titles are generated by the model the session is already running on, at low thinking effort, in the language you wrote in. Set naming-model in the settings menu to use a cheaper model instead, or clear the field to go back to the session model.

Following renames from the host

The tab title always follows the session's own title. Renames that happen outside this extension — plain Pi's /name, Oh My Pi's builtin /rename, a rename from another extension — are mirrored through the Orca CLI without rewriting the session. Oh My Pi announces no rename event, so its renames are picked up by a lightweight watcher that re-reads the session name once per second and only calls Orca when it actually changed. An explicitly set title also stops any AI-generated rename that is still in flight, so it is never overwritten afterwards.
