Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Provider-neutral BrowserProvider V1 and V2 contracts for live browser integrations.

Readme

@zamery/browser-provider

Provider-neutral TypeScript contracts for browser integrations.

This is the foundation package for Zamery Browser. It defines BrowserProvider V1 and the additive BrowserProvider V2 contract without depending on Pi, Firefox, Zamery Workbench, or any concrete automation engine.

Install

npm install @zamery/browser-provider

What it gives you

  • A stable provider-neutral browser contract.
  • Explicit browser/provider session identity.
  • Freshness and provenance semantics for semantic snapshots.
  • Declared vs observed action semantics.
  • Validated action receipts that preserve ambiguous outcomes instead of converting them into success.
  • Side-by-side V1/V2 contracts so protocol evolution is explicit.
  • Optional, independently versioned interfaces with structural type guards: BrowserAttentionProviderV1 (bounded user-attention requests that never grant authority), BrowserAuthorizationProviderV1, BrowserControlProviderV1 (claim / hand-off / mutation status), BrowserTabProviderV1, BrowserTabGroupProviderV1 and BrowserArtifactProviderV1 (bounded screenshots). V2 stays the core contract; these never widen its enums.
  • Optional BrowserAssetProviderV1 contracts for bounded, opaque browser-backed asset discovery and transfer without exposing source URLs or credentials.

Example

import {
  BROWSER_PROVIDER_V2,
  type BrowserProviderV2,
} from "@zamery/browser-provider";

function acceptsV2(provider: BrowserProviderV2): boolean {
  return provider.protocolVersion === BROWSER_PROVIDER_V2;
}

A concrete provider can expose createBrowserProvider(options) for the stable V1 path and createBrowserProviderV2(options) for V2-aware consumers.

Compatibility

  • Node.js >=22.19.0 <25.
  • BrowserProvider protocol revisions are separate from npm package semver.
  • V1 remains available; V2 does not silently reinterpret V1 behavior.

Patch releases preserve exported runtime/TypeScript semantics. Minor releases may add APIs. Intentional breaking API or semantic changes are called out with migration notes even before 1.0.
