Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

v0.0.3

External stores, stable selectors and React useSyncExternalStore bridge without bundled React.

Readme

@zeruxjs/react

Framework-neutral external-store primitives and injected React Hooks adapters.

import {createReactStore,createReactBindings} from '@zeruxjs/react';
import {useMemo,useSyncExternalStore} from 'react';
const bindings = createReactBindings({useMemo,useSyncExternalStore});
const store = createReactStore({count:0});
// Inside a component:
const count = bindings.useSelector(store, state => state.count);
store.batch(() => {store.update(s=>({count:s.count+1}));});

For real components, stabilize selectors with useCallback or a module-level function when possible. createReactBindings memoizes selector stores using the supplied real useMemo; useReactSelector also caches a stable selector/store pair for direct calls. The store supports getServerSnapshot, transactions, cleanup, and selector equality. observableToReactStore/reactStoreToObservable bridge Zyro-style observables via structural typing with no bundled React or Zyro dependency.

Section 78: hydration and ownership contract

ExternalStore<T> may expose getServerSnapshot() for React 18+ SSR. The snapshot returned on the server must be serialized into the client hydration payload, including its data shape. createReactStore(initial, {serverSnapshot}) pins its server snapshot rather than returning a subsequently mutated client value. selectReactStore memoizes selected client and server values using the supplied comparator, preventing newly allocated selectors from changing snapshot identity on every read.

import {createReactBindings,createReactStore} from '@zeruxjs/react';
import {useMemo,useSyncExternalStore,useCallback} from 'react';
const bindings = createReactBindings({useMemo,useSyncExternalStore});
const store = createReactStore({count:0});
function Counter(){
  const selector = useCallback((value:{count:number})=>value.count,[]);
  const count = bindings.useSelector(store,selector);
  return <button onClick={()=>store.update(s=>({count:s.count+1}))}>{count}</button>;
}

createReactBindings invokes the real React Hooks only inside components. The standalone useReactSelector convenience helper uses a weak cache and needs a stable selector. When passing an explicit serverSnapshot callback, return stable data; React requires consistent snapshots across SSR, hydration and the first client commit. Unsubscribe is idempotent; the external store does not own React's component lifecycle. React itself is not installed, vendored or automatically registered by this package.

Release 0.0.2

Prepared to validate npm trusted publishing through GitHub Actions.

Release 0.0.3

Synchronized ecosystem release, including Zuixs CSS-entry support and documentation updates. Existing placeholder packages retain their documented limitations.
