Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

External Paperclip adapter for the Oh My Pi coding-agent CLI

Readme

Paperclip OMP Adapter

CI npm license

Run Oh My Pi as a first-class external adapter in Paperclip—with native model discovery, custom providers, resumable local sessions, skills, tools, and structured transcripts.

What it maps

| OMP capability | Paperclip behavior | |---|---| | Built-in, fetched, local, and custom models | Native omp models --json discovery and refresh | | Custom providers and models.yml | Schema-driven config with environment-bound credentials | | Tools, skills, rules, hooks, extensions, LSP, PTY | Direct OMP CLI flag mapping | | JSONL sessions and tool events | Structured Paperclip transcript entries | | Local session state | Exact session resume across heartbeats | | SSH and sandbox targets | Workspace and sanitized runtime-asset staging |

Quick start

Requirements: Node.js 22+, Paperclip with external-adapter support, and OMP installed and authenticated in the execution environment.

npm install -g @oh-my-pi/[email protected]

Install the published adapter with the Paperclip CLI:

npx paperclipai adapter install --payload-json '{"packageName":"@zhafron/paperclip-omp-adapter","version":"0.1.2"}'

You can also use Settings → Adapters → Install from npm and enter @zhafron/paperclip-omp-adapter.

Create an agent with adapter type omp_local, then select an OMP model such as provider/model or a role alias such as @smol. Leaving tool and skill allowlists empty preserves OMP's complete defaults.

Custom provider

Bind the credential in Paperclip's environment/secrets configuration, then reference only its environment variable name:

providers:
  my-gateway:
    baseUrl: https://gateway.example.com/v1
    api: openai-completions
    apiKey: MY_GATEWAY_API_KEY
    models:
      - id: my-model
        name: My Model
        contextWindow: 128000
        maxTokens: 8192

Paste that into the adapter's Isolated models.yml field and select my-gateway/my-model.

Safety and remote behavior

  • Inline and materialized YAML is parsed structurally; literal credentials and credential-bearing URLs are rejected.
  • Auth databases are never copied to remote targets. Use Paperclip secret bindings.
  • Remote config, extension, hook, and plugin paths must live inside the synchronized workspace.
  • Local sessions resume exactly. Remote sessions are ephemeral because Paperclip remote runtime directories are per run.
  • Paperclip-owned identity and workspace environment values cannot be overridden by agent config.

Development

npm install
npm test
npm pack --dry-run

Tag a version such as v0.1.0 to run the npm publish workflow and create a GitHub Release. The workflow expects an NPM_TOKEN repository secret.
