Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

AI agent orchestrator with system tray integration

Readme

Claud-IA

npm version License: MIT Node.js

AI agent orchestrator with system tray integration for macOS. Manages Claude Code CLI sessions in Docker containers (or locally) with a web terminal interface.

Features

  • Docker-based agents - Each Claude session runs in an isolated container
  • Local agent support - Run agents directly on the host without Docker
  • System tray - macOS menu bar integration for quick access
  • Web terminal - Browser-based terminal with full PTY support
  • Wake lock - Prevents Mac from sleeping while agents are active
  • Resource bounded - Memory/CPU limits prevent host starvation
  • Auto-cleanup - Testcontainers Ryuk handles orphaned containers

Installation

Global Installation (Recommended)

npm install -g @zicenter/claud-ia

Using npx

npx @zicenter/claud-ia

From Source

git clone https://github.com/zicenter/claud-ia.git
cd claud-ia
npm install
npm run build
npm link

Requirements

  • macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel)
  • Node.js >= 20.0.0
  • Docker Desktop (for container backend)
  • Optional: fzf (brew install fzf) for project picker

Quick Start

# Start the orchestrator (opens system tray)
claud-ia

# Or run with npx
npx @zicenter/claud-ia

Once running, access the web interface at http://localhost:3000 or use the system tray menu to manage agents.

CLI Commands

claud-ia launch [path] # Launch agent (fzf picker if no path)
claud-ia list # List running agents
claud-ia attach [id] # Attach to agent tmux session
claud-ia stop [id] # Stop an agent
claud-ia stop --all # Stop all agents
claud-ia status # Show system status

Configuration

Create ~/.claud-ia.json:

{
  "projectDirs": ["~/Projects", "~/Code"],
  "agent": {
    "backend": "container",
    "resourceLimits": {
      "memory": "8g",
      "cpus": 4
    }
  }
}

Set agent.backend to "local" to run agents directly on the host without Docker.

Remote Access

# SSH into your Mac (e.g., via Tailscale)
ssh [email protected]

# Launch or attach to agents
claud-ia launch
claud-ia attach <id>

# Detach with Ctrl+B D (agent keeps running)
