@zobira/expo-build-accelerator
Expo config plugin that makes repeated Android builds fast. It is the app half of the Zobira pipeline's
build caching (the pipeline half — fixed EAS working directory, ccache, per-environment ABIs — is in the Jenkins
library, docs/expo.md, "Build speed").
bun add -d @zobira/expo-build-accelerator// app.config.ts
plugins: [
"@zobira/expo-build-accelerator",
// or with options:
// ["@zobira/expo-build-accelerator", { jvmArgs: "-Xmx6g" }],
]It writes to android/gradle.properties at prebuild (which eas build --local runs fresh every time, so these
can't be committed):
| Property | Default | Option |
|----------|---------|--------|
| org.gradle.caching | true | buildCache: false to leave it off |
| org.gradle.parallel | true | parallel: false |
| org.gradle.jvmargs | -Xmx4096m -XX:MaxMetaspaceSize=1024m (SDK 54's 2 GB OOMs on large native apps) | jvmArgs: "<args>", or null to keep the template's |
| reactNativeArchitectures | untouched (all four ABIs) | $ZOBIRA_ANDROID_ARCHITECTURES (set by the pipeline per environment) wins over architectures: [...] |
An unknown ABI fails expo config immediately rather than producing an APK that runs nowhere.
Replaces per-app copies of a "raise the Gradle heap" plugin — remove those when adding this.

bun test testThe plugin was verified end to end with expo prebuild on an SDK 54 app (with and without
ZOBIRA_ANDROID_ARCHITECTURES).
