Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Jimmy John's - The Unofficial API

Get Food:

var jj = require('Jimmy-Johns');

var all_sandwiches = jj.get_menu();
var sandwich = (all_sandwiches[0]).data;

var options = {}; //eek! see below for the long story.

jj.order(options, sandwich, function(success, error) {
  if (!error) {
    console.log("SANDWICH EN ROUTE");
  }
});

That "Options" Object

Basically, make an object that looks like this:

var options = {
  email:"[email protected]", //your Jimmy John's account email
  password:"password",    //your Jimmy John's account password
  first_name:"NAME",
  last_name:"NAME",
  phone:"444-444-4444",
  tip_amount:"2",         //Tip amount (in dollars)
  location_id:1106,       //More on the below
  is_test:true,
  verbose:true,
  address: {
    line1: "123 W Apple Street",
    line2: "",
    city: "Little Rock",
    state: "NY",
    zipcode:"90501",
    longitude:-100.1692740, //These should be YOUR lat/long
    latitude:60.0719220
  },
  payment_info: {
    exp_month:"01",
    exp_year:2001,
    cvv:123
  }
}

A bit more explanation

You'll notice the credit card information is absent. Currently, you'll have to save a credit card on your JJ account in order for this to work :/

| Parameter | Explanation | | ------------- |:-------------------------------------- | | location_id | This is a unique identifier given to each Physical JJ store. Basically, it's the ID of the closest JJ to you. [Find yours.](#Getting Your Location ID) | | is_test | If true, the final request will abort before being confirmed. Good for just testing :) | | *verbose * | If true, you'll get a deeper look into the steps/progress. Good for debugging :D |

What Can I Order?

Get The Menu:
There are some quirks to working with an unofficial API. Namely, I don't have a full menu indexed all nice and neat. I only have my favorites, of which you view by doing this:

jj.get_menu()

Why am I telling you this? Because you'll need to pass one or more of these objects in as the "sandwiches" parameter!

This could use some work :/

Getting Your Location ID

var location = {latitude: 60.0719220, longitude: -100.1692740};
var location_ids = get_store_ids: function(location, function(success, error, store_ids){
  if (!error) {
    console.log(store_ids);
  }
});
