AC_OETags

Adobe's classic Flash Player detection and embed helper script (AC_OETags.js, Rev 1.5), packaged as an npm module for easy distribution/installation.

What it does

AC_OETags.js provides the browser-side JavaScript Adobe originally shipped with Flash-based sites to:

• Detect the installed Flash Player version (GetSwfVer, ControlVersion, DetectFlashVer)
• Generate the correct <object> (IE/ActiveX) or <embed> (other browsers) markup for embedding a .swf file (AC_FL_RunContent, AC_Generateobj)

Installation

npm install ac-oe-tags

Usage

Include the script in a page and call AC_FL_RunContent with the same argument pairs Adobe's Publish-generated HTML used:

Notes

• This is legacy code, provided as-is for maintaining older Flash-based sites. Flash Player itself reached end-of-life in December 2020 and is no longer supported by any major browser.
• No build step, dependencies, or tests are defined for this package — it's a single static script.
