Aclade Agent

Aclade Agent is the official secure local connector for Aclade Cloud. It bridges the gap between your secure local corporate infrastructure and your autonomous AI experts hosted on Aclade.

Security & Architecture

The Aclade Agent is a lightweight, zero-trust polling daemon. It does not contain any AI logic, LLM weights, RAG pipelines, or proprietary autonomous reasoning loops. All AI processing, security checks, and orchestration occur on the secure aclade.com backend infrastructure.

This agent simply polls the Aclade Cloud for approved task instructions (such as executing a local build script or reading a file) and returns the standard output securely back to the AI context.

Installation

The recommended installation utilizes PM2 to ensure the agent runs persistently as a background system daemon across system restarts.

# 2. Connect. --foreground is REQUIRED under a supervisor like pm2: it makes
#    pm2 own the process, so a self-update exits and pm2 restarts the new
#    version (without it, the agent double-forks and pm2 cannot manage it).

A connection token is valid for 12 hours. The agent rotates it automatically in the final 90 minutes (proof-of-possession: it exchanges the still-valid token for a fresh one and persists it to ~/.aclade-agent.json), so a running daemon stays connected indefinitely. If the window is ever missed (machine asleep, endpoint unreachable) the agent logs a warning and you re-issue a token from the portal (Workspace → Connect your machine) and re-run the connect command — the new process stops the previous one cleanly.

Features

• Zero-Trust Polling: No inbound ports are opened. The agent strictly polls outward over secure HTTPS.
• Auto-Upgrading: The agent periodically checks the NPM registry and installs updates itself. Under a supervisor it exits and the supervisor restarts it (a few seconds of downtime); unsupervised it respawns the new version before exiting.
• Daemonized by Default: Without --foreground it double-forks into the background, so a plain terminal session is enough to start it.
