Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Earn while Claude Code / Codex work — a sponsored status line for your terminal agent.

Readme

advibing

Advertisers pay your coding bills. Earn passively while Claude Code works — a tiny, tasteful sponsored line in your terminal turns your agent's busy moments into real money. You just code.

While Claude Code is thinking and building, Advibing shows a small Ad ✦ … on the status line and a sponsor word in the spinner. Advertisers bid for that slot; up to 50% of the revenue is credited to you — per impression, and 50× per click.

npm install -g advibing
advibing install # wire it into Claude Code & start earning
advibing login # link this device to your account (opens your browser)
advibing earnings # watch the money add up

That's the whole setup. Not sure what to do next? Just run advibing — it always shows your next step.

Why you'll want it

  • 💸 Earn while you code. No effort, no surveys, no pop-ups. Your agent's working moments quietly accrue impressions and clicks.
  • 🤝 Up to 50% revenue share — credited per impression; a click is worth 50 impressions.
  • 🧘 Zero interference. The ad changes only at task boundaries — once per agent turn, never mid-thought. No flicker, no eye strain. Dial it down or off whenever you like.
  • 🔒 It never reads your code. Your prompts, code, and output never leave your machine — only impression/click counts and anti-fraud signals are sent.
  • ↩️ Fully reversible. One command restores your Claude Code settings exactly.

Where the ad shows

Advibing only ever writes to your own Claude Code config (~/.claude/settings.json), and the ad appears in two places inside the terminal — only while your agent is actually working:

| Surface | Looks like | Clickable? | |---|---|---| | Status line (bottom) | Ad ✦ Neon · serverless Postgres · 42 impr | ✅ — opens the sponsor; this is what counts impressions & clicks | | Spinner (while "thinking") | a sponsor phrase blended into the spinner words | display only |

What keeps it tasteful, not spammy:

  • Work-gated — impressions accrue only while the agent is genuinely computing. An idle terminal earns nothing.
  • One ad per task — the line advances when your agent finishes a step, not on a fast timer.
  • No sponsor bidding right now? The slot shows a gentle ✦ Advibing — looking for sponsors → (clickable to advertise) — never a random ad.

Commands

| Command | What it does | |---|---| | advibing | Show your status + next step (run anytime) | | advibing install | Set up Advibing in Claude Code and start earning | | advibing login | Link this device to your account (confirms right in the terminal) | | advibing earnings | Show your available / pending / lifetime earnings | | advibing intensity <0–100> | How often the ad shows — 50 ≈ half the time, off = none | | advibing off · advibing on | Pause / resume earning (keeps your account + stats) | | advibing status | Show exactly what's set up (alias: doctor) | | advibing logout | Unlink this device from your account | | advibing uninstall | Remove Advibing and restore your Claude Code settings |

Tune how much it shows

Prefer a cleaner terminal? Dial the ad intensity (it syncs across every device you're signed in on):

advibing intensity 100 # always show — default, max earnings
advibing intensity 50 # show ~half the time; the rest of the turns stay clean
advibing intensity off # no ads on this device (earns nothing until you raise it)

Good to know

  • Reversible by design. advibing install backs up your settings to ~/.advibing/backups/ first, and advibing uninstall restores them. advibing off pauses without removing anything; run advibing status to see exactly what's configured.
  • Fair by design. Earnings are capped to a single screen of human attention, so opening many terminals never multiplies impressions — and advertisers only pay for real, work-gated exposure.
  • Payouts. Earnings clear after a short fraud-hold, then you withdraw from your dashboard once you pass the minimum (Stripe today; WeChat coming).
  • Privacy. Advibing transmits counts and anti-fraud signals only — never content. See https://advibing.com/privacy.
