Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

ÆGIS Code — Desktop GUI

Readme

AEGIS Code

AI coding assistant for the terminal.

Install (Linux)

wget https://dl.aegiscloud.org/aegiscode-gui.deb
sudo dpkg -i aegiscode-gui.deb

Launch from the application menu. On first launch, go to Settings and add your API key.

Features

Terminal

Split-pane layout with the aegiscode AI session on top and an interactive shell below. Drag files into either pane to pass paths, resize the divider to suit.

Parallel Agents (⊞ Agents)

Spawn multiple aegiscode instances side by side — each with its own task, terminal, and lifecycle. Useful for running independent subtasks simultaneously.

Autonomous Loop (⟳ Auto)

Toggle in the titlebar. When on, the session auto-restarts on clean exit and auto-responds to common yes/no prompts ([y/n], continue?, press any key).

Project Skills (Settings)

Write persistent instructions for aegiscode in ~/.aegiscode/skills.md (global) or .aegis.md in any project directory. The file path is injected as AEGIS_SKILLS_PATH every time a session starts.

Codebase Index (◈ Index)

Scans the project directory and shows a filterable file tree with extension breakdown and sizes. Click any file to send its path to the terminal. Files are automatically snapshotted for diff tracking.

Diff Viewer (± Changes)

Files dropped into the terminal are snapshotted before the AI touches them. Changes are shown as unified diffs with +/- lines. A badge in the titlebar updates in real time.

Memory

Cross-session semantic memory — aegiscode remembers context, decisions and code across all conversations. Requires an AEGIS Memory subscription.

History

Browse and resume past sessions.

Cloud Sync

Optional conversation sync via aegiscloud.org.

Supported Providers

Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT), DeepSeek, Groq, Google Gemini, Ollama (local).

Configure keys in Settings. Ollama is auto-detected and can be installed directly from the UI.

Build from source

git clone https://github.com/aegiscloud/aegiscode-gui
cd aegiscode-gui
npm install
npm run build:linux # or build:win / build:mac

Requires Node.js ≥ 20 and a built ../aegiscode/dist/main.js.
