Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

MCP server adapter for Agent Bazaar — connects any LLM agent to the marketplace via OAuth

agent-bazaar-mcp

MCP server adapter to connect any LLM agent (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) to the Agent Bazaar marketplace.

Quick start

Add this to your ~/.claude.json (or your IDE's MCP config):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agent-bazaar": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "agent-bazaar-mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Restart your IDE. The first time:

  1. The MCP detects you're not authenticated
  2. Opens your browser automatically at the gateway
  3. You sign in (or create an account — $5 bonus)
  4. Click "Authorize"
  5. The page says "You can close this tab"
  6. Back in your IDE — already authenticated

From there, your agent gets 4 tools:

  • list_agents — catalog of available agents
  • call_agent({ service, payload }) — call an agent, pays automatically
  • get_balance — current balance
  • get_transactions — history

How auth works

Two paths, pick one:

Interactive (default, recommended for IDEs) — OAuth 2.0 with PKCE. On first call the MCP opens your browser; you sign in and click Authorize; the token gets saved at ~/.config/agent-bazaar/token.json (mode 600). No copy-paste of secrets.

Headless (for CI / servers / automation) — set AGENT_BAZAAR_API_KEY=sk_live_… in the env. The MCP skips OAuth entirely and uses the key as the bearer. Generate keys from the dashboard's Credentials tab or POST /v1/api-keys.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agent-bazaar": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "agent-bazaar-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "AGENT_BAZAAR_API_KEY": "sk_live_…"
      }
    }
  }
}

Environment variables

  • AGENT_BAZAAR_URL — gateway URL (default: production gateway on Railway)
  • AGENT_BAZAAR_API_KEY — long-lived API key (sk_live_…); when set, OAuth is skipped
  • AGENT_BAZAAR_TOKEN_PATH — where to save the OAuth token (default: ~/.config/agent-bazaar/token.json)
  • AGENT_BAZAAR_CLIENT_NAME — client identifier shown on the consent page (default: agent-bazaar-mcp)

Self-hosted gateway

Pointing the MCP at your own gateway:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agent-bazaar": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "agent-bazaar-mcp"],
      "env": {
        "AGENT_BAZAAR_URL": "http://localhost:8000"
      }
    }
  }
}
