Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Agent Data API — MCP Server

MCP server exposing 18 pay-per-call data tools + 1 free tool for AI agents: crypto & DeFi market data (cross-exchange funding rates, market-regime signal, TVL, yields, stablecoin pegs), web extraction (clean text, Markdown, metadata), PDF-to-text, RSS/Atom parsing, FX rates, crypto prices, weather, DNS and email validation.

Payments use the x402 protocol — USDC on Base, per-call, no API keys, no accounts, no subscriptions.

Quick start (Claude Desktop / Cursor / any MCP client)

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "agent-data-api": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "agent-data-api-mcp"]
    }
  }
}

Then ask your agent to try the free tool:

"Use crypto_fear_greed to check crypto market sentiment."

Tools

| Tool | Price (USDC) | | --- | --- | | crypto_fear_greed | FREE | | crypto_funding_rates — Binance/Bybit/OKX perp funding + crowding bias | $0.01 | | crypto_market_regime — trend/chop/vol regime from 200×4h candles | $0.02 | | defi_tvl — protocol / chain / top-20 TVL | $0.005 | | defi_yields — top pools, min $1M TVL, APY breakdown | $0.01 | | defi_stablecoins — top 20 with live peg deviation | $0.005 | | web_extract / web_markdown / web_metadata | $0.005–0.01 | | pdf_to_text | $0.005 | | parse_feed | $0.005 | | fx_rates / crypto_prices / weather | $0.005 | | dns_lookup / validate_email | $0.005 | | za_public_holidays / za_tax_tables | $0.005–0.01 |

How payment works

The free tool returns data immediately. Paid tools call the API; if payment is required, the tool returns the machine-readable x402 payment requirements (price, network eip155:8453, asset USDC, pay-to address) so an x402-capable client or wallet-equipped agent can settle and retry. This MCP server holds no keys and signs nothing.
