Agent MapReduce Skill
A skill that teaches coding agents to coordinate iterative repository work across fresh parallel worker agents using Git refs: each worker commits a proposal to its own branch, and a coordinator reduces accepted proposals into a series of candidate branches.
Use it to fan out repo work (audits, refactors, research, patches) across isolated agent sessions, then merge the results with a clear, inspectable ancestry.
Install
Install with the Skills CLI:

npx skills add lukeramsden/agent-mapreduce-skill --listWhat the skill provides
- A Git ref layout for runs: coordinator-owned
candidate/<iter>branches and worker-ownedworker/<iter>/<unit>branches - An iteration loop: plan units, launch fresh worker sessions, wait, reduce by merging, then cut the next candidate
- Coordinator guidance for planning (shard or continue), reduction, resume, and promotion
- Worker guidance: fresh sessions, proposals as diffs/artifacts, commit before stopping

This skill is a generic, agent-agnostic adaptation of the local-MapReduce protocol published by Matt Rickard in "Corigin Local MapReduce". The core ideas — candidate/worker ref namespaces, coordinator-only candidate writes, shard-or-continue planning, and reduction via merge ancestry — are his. This project is an independent rewording and generalisation, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Matt Rickard.
