Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Package-facing distribution for the Agentic Web runtime: CLI bootstrap, skill sync, and platform binary install

agentic-web

npm License Website LinkedIn

Current release line: v1.0.0 — distributed as the package-facing wrapper for the canonical runtime binary plus optional JavaScript bootstrap helpers.

🧭 Why this package exists

This npm package is the distribution wrapper around the canonical Agentic Web runtime. It exists to:

  • install the right binary for your platform
  • expose npx agentic-web
  • provide package-facing JavaScript helpers for project bootstrap

Why does this matter?

Without a consistent package-facing wrapper, the install story drifts away from the runtime story. This package keeps binary distribution and optional project bootstrap aligned with the canonical Agentic Web release line.

⚡ Key Features

  • Platform-aware binary install — downloads the correct Agentic Web binary for your environment
  • Canonical CLI entrypoint — exposes npx agentic-web as a thin wrapper around the shipped Rust binary
  • Package-facing JS helpers — exposes agentic-web/skills for scripted project bootstrap flows

💻 Install

npm install agentic-web

This will:

  1. Download the Agentic Web binary for your platform
  2. Make npx agentic-web available

🚀 CLI Usage

The package wrapper delegates to the canonical runtime binary. Discover the live CLI surface from the installed binary itself:

npx agentic-web --help
npx agentic-web run-list
npx agentic-web session capabilities

🧠 Project Bootstrap Helpers

If you want to install or refresh AGENTS policies and skill assets inside a project, use the package helper API explicitly:

import { initSkills, updateSkills, skillsStatus } from "agentic-web/skills";

await initSkills(process.cwd());
await updateSkills(process.cwd());
await skillsStatus(process.cwd());

These helpers create and maintain:

  • AGENTS.md — Agent policy dispatcher
  • AGENTS.vscode.MD — VS Code runtime adapter
  • AGENTS.copilot-cli.MD — Copilot CLI runtime adapter
  • .github/copilot-instructions.md — GitHub Copilot custom instructions
  • .github/skills/*/SKILL.md — installed skill files

⚙️ Programmatic API

import { initSkills, updateSkills, skillsStatus } from "agentic-web/skills";

await initSkills("/path/to/project");
await updateSkills("/path/to/project");
await skillsStatus("/path/to/project");
