Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Bootstrap AI-assisted projects from a CLI interview

Readme

ai-driven-bootstrap

Bootstrap AI-assisted projects from a CLI interview, not a blank repo.

This repository defines a scaffolder that should ask a few setup questions, generate the initial project docs and agent files, and leave the user with a ready-to-edit repository.

What this is

A future npm / pnpm dlx CLI for initializing AI-assisted projects with a consistent documentation and agent setup.

  • A short interactive interview
  • Generated project docs such as overview.md, requirements.md, architecture.md, decisions.md, and tasks.md
  • A standard workflow for how humans and AI should collaborate after bootstrap
  • Generated agent guidance such as AGENTS.md and optional agent-specific files
  • A minimal, agent-agnostic starting structure

What this is not

  • A finished starter app for a specific framework
  • A language-specific full stack scaffold
  • A replacement for product decisions or architecture thinking

Who this is for

Developers and teams who want to:

  • Start a new AI-assisted project from one command
  • Answer a short set of questions instead of manually editing multiple docs first
  • Keep AI agents aligned across sessions with generated written context

Who this is not for

  • Teams looking for a production-ready framework starter
  • Projects that already have a settled internal bootstrap workflow

Status

Pre-release. The CLI is not yet published to npm.

This repository is the design and planning stage for the tool. See docs/ for the current product definition, requirements, and architecture.

How to use (once published)

  1. Run npx ai-driven-bootstrap init or pnpm dlx ai-driven-bootstrap init
  2. Answer the setup questions
  3. Review the generated docs and agent files
  4. Start building with your AI agent of choice

The generated docs become the source of truth for the new project. This repository is the source of truth for how that bootstrap process should work.
