Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Aiko DSH Ontology Kernel

An installable DeepSeek Harness bundle that provides one ontology interface with two adapters:

  • aiko-dsh-ontology-kernel/local persists definitions, objects, links, Functions, and Actions through the Harness storage domain.
  • aiko-dsh-ontology-kernel projects the active runtime to the browser through typed Typert remotes.

The user installs one bundle; the internal local and remote adapters are implementation details.

Install from npm

dsh plugin --profile web add [email protected]
dsh --profile web --dump-config
dsh --profile web

Published npm packages contain runtime artifacts under lib/ and do not execute a prepare script. Public Git tags preserve historical source and do not receive private implementation changes.

Interface

Business plugins import ontology definitions from aiko-dsh-ontology-kernel/runtime and contribute versioned object types, link types, Functions, Actions, and their implementations through ctx.ontology.register(...). Browser plugins use ctx.ontologyRemote and do not depend on the local storage adapter.

The bundle inserts ontology-local before ontology-remote. A later profile patch may replace either row with another adapter without changing business plugins.

Source provenance

The initial implementation was extracted from the public packages/ontology/* packages in qwe8652591/deepseek-harness at commit 8bca1e10fc2066e18309cd5fc5a62bd69b78de13. The extracted repository is the distribution surface; the Harness fork remains the integration workspace until the migration is completed.

Distribution

Active development lives in the private aiko-dsh-plugins/dsh-ontology-kernel-source repository. Publish a checked tarball with npm publish ./aiko-dsh-ontology-kernel-0.1.5.tgz --access public --tag latest --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org/. Packages contain runtime JavaScript and declarations without the src tree. The aiko-dsh-plugin-catalog package lists package names. This plugin publishes its own guides and previews in npm metadata. The updated desktop installer repairs retired Aiko GitHub sources in one transaction; private source commits stay private.

Market metadata and compatibility

Edit market/metadata.json, market/en.md, market/zh.md and local PNG resources, then run npm run build:metadata. The generated dsh.market fields ship in the npm manifest, so browsing help does not download the runtime archive. dsh.compatibility.host declares the exact tested Aiko DSH release, currently 0.1.5-alpha.2; the updated desktop installer checks it before activation. Expand this declaration only after testing the supported releases. Plugin upgrades require only a new plugin publication; the names-only directory changes only when adding or removing plugins.
