Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Adds Decorator Based TS-Mockito Support to Alsatian + decorator based mock injection

Install

npm install alsatian-tsmockito

Decorators

Property Decorators

    @Mock()

Defines that a mock should be injected in this property

    @InjectableMock()

Defines that a mock should be injected in this property which will be later injected in the object defined by the @InjectMocks() decorator.

Injection Methods

By default injectable mocks will be injected by assuming that the property name used in the test is equal to the one used in the class it should be injected in.

The @InjectableMock decorator accepts a parameter which can be used to override this default behavior. The argument is an interface which will be called during injection.

export interface InjectionMethod {
    inject(target: object, propertyKey: string, value: any);
}
PropertyAccessInjection

PropertyAccessInjection can be used if the injection is done by setting a simple property on th test object. The name of the property is defined as argument.

@InjectableMock(new PropertyAccessInjection("propertyName"))

Method Decorators

Reset Calls on Mocks

Reset Calls

@ResetCallsOnInjectableMocks()

Resets all calls on injectable mocks (@InjectableMock)

@ResetCallsOnNonInjectableMocks()

Resets all calls on NON injectable mocks (@Mock)

@ResetCallsOnAllMocks()

Resets all calls on all mocks (@Mock && @InjectableMock)

Reset Mocks

Restes calls and stubbing

@ResetInjectableMocks()

Resets calls and stubbing on injectable mocks (@InjectableMock)

@ResetNonInjectableMocks()

Resets calls and stubbing on NON injectable mocks (@Mock)

@ResetAllMocks()

Resets calls and stubbing on all mocks (@Mock && @InjectableMock)

Example

See Demo.spec.ts in test folder:

@TestFixture()
export class DemoClassSpec {

    @Mock()
    private mockForResetDemo: Greeter;
    @InjectableMock()
    private mockForInjectableResetDemo: Greeter;
    @Mock()
    private manualGreeter: Greeter;
    @InjectableMock()
    private friendlyGreeter: Greeter;
    //example with different property name
    @InjectableMock(new PropertyAccessInjection("rudeGreeter"))
    private diffentName: Greeter;
    //all injectables will be injected
    @InjectMocks(new DemoClass())
    private sut: DemoClass;

    @Setup
    @ResetCallsOnInjectableMocks()
    public setupTest() {
        when(this.mockForResetDemo.greet()).thenThrow(new Error("should never happen"));
    }

    @Test("test greet all")
    public testGreetAll() {
        this.sut.greetAll();
        verify(this.friendlyGreeter.greet()).once();
        verify(this.diffentName.greet()).once();
    }

    @Test("test greet all2")
    public testGreetAll2() {
        this.sut.greetAll();
        verify(this.friendlyGreeter.greet()).once();
        verify(this.diffentName.greet()).once();
    }

    @Test("test greet internal")
    public testGreetInternal() {
        this.sut.greetInternal(instance(this.manualGreeter));
        verify(this.manualGreeter.greet()).once();
    }

    @Test("test greet internal2")
    @ResetCallsOnNonInjectableMocks()
    public testGreetInternal2() {
        this.sut.greetInternal(instance(this.manualGreeter));
        verify(this.manualGreeter.greet()).once();
    }

    @Test("test without reset")
    public testWithoutResetMock() {
        try {
            instance(this.mockForResetDemo).greet();
        } catch (e) {
            return;
        }
        throw new MatchError("Exception should be thrown")
    }

    @Test("test with reset")
    @ResetNonInjectableMocks()
    public testWithResetMock() {
        instance(this.mockForResetDemo).greet();
    }
