Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

iOS style switch directive for AngularJS

Readme

angular-ui-switch2

This is an updated version of angular-ui-switch that includes changes inspired by a forked repo. This version includes ngDisabled and allows the iOS style switches to to be 'frozen' (aka disabled). When ngDisabled=true, a disabled class will be added to the <switch> element, which can then be custom styled within your own app.

The following documentation is based on angular-ui-switch's README.

Overview

This is a simple iOS style switch directive for AngularJS. You can use this module as you would use any HTML checkbox input element. This is a lightweight module and you can completely change the design using just CSS.

Supported by all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, IE8+

YoomJS

Inspired by switchery - in an angular way.

Installation

Download the package from github. The package is also available over npm install angular-ui-switch2 or bower install angular-ui-switch2.

Include the javascript and css files into your page to begin using the directive in your app.

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en" ng-app="app">
<head>
  ...
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="/ui-switch.min.css"/>
</head>
<body>
  ...
  <script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.3.0-rc.3/angular.min.js"></script>
  <script src="/ui-switch.min.js"></script>
</body>
</html>

Declare a dependency on the module.

angular.module( 'myModule', ['uiSwitch'] );

Insert the switch in your html template.

<form>
  <switch id="enabled" name="enabled" ng-model="enabled" class="green"></switch>
  <br>{{ enabled }}
</form>

Add optional on/off text

<form>
  <switch id="enabled" name="enabled" ng-model="enabled" on="On" off="Off" class="green"></switch>
  <br>{{ enabled }}
</form>

Disabled (no state change via click)

<form>
  <switch id="disabledTest" name="disabledTest" ng-model="disabledTestModel" ng-disabled="true"></switch>
  <br>{{ disabledTestModel }}
</form>

Design

You can completely change the design. All the magic is hidden inside a few CSS classes.

.switch {
  /* frame */
}
.switch small {
  /* button */
}
.switch.checked {
  /* frame when enabled */
  /* set background color of switch when switch is checked and enabled */
}
.switch.checked small {
  /* button when checked */
  /* set button position when switch is checked */
}
.switch.disabled {
  /* frame when disabled */
}
.switch.disabled.checked {
  /* button when disabled */
  /* set background color of switch when switch is checked and disabled */
}
