Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

atlas-agent

v0.1.1

Published

Atlas — a coding agent that gets cheaper, warier, and more trusted with use. The `atlas` CLI + TUI.

Readme

Atlas

Every other coding agent's marginal cost is flat and its memory resets. Atlas gets cheaper, warier, and more trusted every week you use it.

Atlas is an open-source, model-agnostic, terminal-first coding agent with a persistent intelligence layer, machine-checked receipts on every change, a learning pipeline that compiles repeated LLM work into deterministic zero-token codemods, and a workspace UI. It works in your git repos — and in any plain folder.

Install

npm i -g atlas-agent # Node 20+; installs a prebuilt SQLite (a C toolchain only if no prebuilt matches your platform)

Or run without installing:

npx atlas-agent "write a scraper for this site"

Quickstart

cd anything/ # a git repo, or any folder at all (git optional)
export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-ant-... # or bind a role to a local OpenAI-compatible model — fully offline works
atlas # bare `atlas` opens the workspace UI
atlas "fix the failing test" # or just say what you want
atlas sync # index the repo (free, no model calls)
atlas doctor # health check: store, toolchain, configs

Tip: keep projects on a local path (e.g. ~/code), not an iCloud/OneDrive-synced folder like ~/Documents — cloud-evicted files make every read a slow network download.

What you get

  • Trust that's earned, not assumed — the agent starts by coding (T1), and earns its way up to auto-merge as it proves itself per path.
  • Receipts — machine-checked evidence attached to every change (atlas receipts, atlas why <file>:<line>).
  • Learning — repeated LLM edits compile into deterministic, zero-token codemods (atlas compile).
  • A real TUI — tasks, live streaming transcript, diffs, receipts, trust heatmap (atlas ui).
