autocode-cli-js

autocode-cli-js is an AI-powered terminal coding assistant in Node.js, replicated directly from the Python autocodeCLI project. It plans, writes, reviews, and refactors code directly inside your current working directory.

Powered by DeepAgents and LangChain, it manages the entire software engineering workflow—from breaking down natural language requirements into architecture blueprints to producing production-ready code with built-in subagent reviews.

🚀 Installation & Usage

1. Global Installation (Recommended)

Install the package globally via npm:

npm install -g autocode-agent

2. Configure Model Credentials

Once installed, you can use the autocodecli command from anywhere to configure your model:

autocodecli set-model <provider> <model_name> [api_key] [base_url]

Examples:

# Set OpenAI
autocodecli set-model openai gpt-4o your_openai_api_key

# Set Anthropic
autocodecli set-model anthropic claude-3-5-sonnet-20241022 your_anthropic_key

# Set Ollama (local LLM)
autocodecli set-model ollama qwen2.5-coder:7b not_required http://localhost:11434

3. Start Interactive Agent

Simply type the command in any directory where you want the agent to work:

autocodecli

Local Development (From Source)

If you want to run it locally without installing globally:

git clone <repository_url>

npm install
