Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Zero-friction CLI & Package Manager for IBM Bob 2.0 AI Extensions

The official CLI and MCP server installer for Bob Marketplace — the decentralized package manager for IBM Bob 2.0.

Quick Start

Initialize Bob Marketplace globally for your IBM Bob IDE in one command:

npx bob-marketplace init

What this does:

  1. Installs the self-contained Bob Marketplace MCP Server runtime into ~/.bob/marketplace/server.js.
  2. Registers the @marketplace MCP tool server in ~/.bob/settings/mcp.json.
  3. Registers the @marketplace Custom Mode in ~/.bob/settings/custom_modes.yaml.

Usage in IBM Bob IDE

Once initialized, open any project in IBM Bob IDE and use natural commands in the chat panel:

  • Install an extension:
    @marketplace add <package-name>
  • List installed extensions:
    @marketplace list
  • Uninstall an extension:
    @marketplace remove <package-name>
