Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

bolt-flow-plugin-storage

Optional debounced local persistence for Bolt Flow. Alpha 0.1.0; unpublished, with validation ongoing. Use the local npm workspaces described in the root README.

Register storagePlugin({ key, debounce, storage, onError }) directly or via a trusted static import() loader. Defaults are key bolt-flow:document and debounce 600 ms. The optional synchronous StorageAdapter implements getItem(key) and setItem(key, value); browser localStorage is used otherwise. A non-browser host must supply an adapter.

Enabling restores a parsed, validated document once. A changed restore uses history: 'ignore' to establish a new history baseline. Document changes schedule debounced writes; removal/pagehide saves the current document and clears pending writes. Commands use runtime.execute(commandId):

  • storage.save: saves immediately and returns success as a boolean.
  • storage.status: returns { savedAt: number | null, error: string | null }. Observe this and onError; an enabled plugin is not proof that writes succeeded.

Persistence includes native same-canvas annotation nodes, graph edges, anchors, local replies/resolution, per-object styles/classes/markers, and all serializable document extensions. Unknown extensions survive without their plugins installed. Legacy extensions.excalidraw scenes are preserved as opaque data only, not rendered or migrated. Restoring does not install renderers; enable native drawing separately and supply its explicit consumer CSS as described in the drawing package README.

Tool state, selection, viewport, undo stacks, and plugin choices are not saved by this plugin; the playground separately remembers plugin preferences. Long strokes and opaque legacy payloads can exceed browser storage quotas. There is no cloud backend, cross-tab synchronization, multiplayer identity, or conflict resolution. Native image tools, rotation, full groups, and full drawing-editor parity are not supplied by persistence.

Requires only the core peer; no React, perfect-freehand, or Excalidraw dependency. See the root validation commands; no final test/build/audit outcomes are asserted.
