Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

bTime

Test Coverage Mutation testing badge

bTime is a small lightweight library, with no dependencies and 100% test and mutation test coverage, designed to help manage schedules using bit manipulation. It is particularly suited to working with dense schedules with discreet time intervals, e.g. 5 minutes.

Getting Started

From Source

  1. Download the github repository
  2. run npm i to install all the required packages
  3. run npm build to build bTime in the /dist folder

Development and Testing

  1. run npm i to install all the required packages
  2. run npm build to build bTime in the /dist folder
  3. run npm t to run all tests
  4. run npm run stryker to run mutation tests

Using bTime

bTime includes two primary classes, Scheduler and BTimeFactory.
Scheduler instantiates its own BTimeFactory when instantiated. BTimeFactory can also be instantiated separately if one desires to directly make use of the btime utils;

Coming Features

  1. Bit Array mode (don't store as strings), optional parameter
  2. Allow compressed storage mode

Assumptions

  1. Weeks start on Sunday, this is the same as JS's Date object
  2. Times are expected to be in UTC, utility converters are provided
  3. Using 2016 * 2 digits (as a string, once for the schedule, once for bookings) to store the time for the week at 5 minute intervals, note this adjusts as time interval size changes. The efficiency is greater for denser schedules.
