Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

canflow-mcp

v1.5.0

Published

MCP server that lets Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients read and update Canflow issue cards.

Readme

canflow-mcp

An MCP server that connects Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients to Canflow — so an AI coding agent can pull bug/issue cards from your beta-testing boards and move them as it works.

Setup

  1. In Canflow, go to Settings → Developer and create an access token.
  2. Connect your agent:

Claude Code

claude mcp add canflow --env CANFLOW_TOKEN=cf_your_token -- npx -y canflow-mcp

Codex — add to ~/.codex/config.toml:

[mcp_servers.canflow]
command = "npx"
args = ["-y", "canflow-mcp"]
env = { CANFLOW_TOKEN = "cf_your_token" }

Environment

| Variable | Required | Default | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | | CANFLOW_TOKEN | yes | — | Access token from Canflow → Settings → Developer | | CANFLOW_API_URL | no | https://boards.canflow.app | Override for self-hosted instances |

Tools

| Tool | Description | | --- | --- | | list_issues | List issue cards from your beta boards. Filter by phase (column name) or board_id. | | get_issue | Full details of one issue: title, description, severity/intensity, category, screenshot URL, and valid phases to move to. | | move_issue | Move an issue to another phase (e.g. Fixing, Verified, Shipped) to reflect progress. |

Example prompt

Pull the bugs from my Canflow "Issues Identified" phase, fix them one by one, and move each card to Fixing then Verified.

Tools

  • list_issues { phase?, board_id? } — list issue cards (optionally by phase).
  • get_issue { id } — full card details incl. available_phases, agent attribution, and the comments/activity timeline.
  • move_issue { id, phase, agent?, status?, note? } — move a card between phases; auto-logs a system comment and (if note) an agent comment.
  • update_issue_agent { id, agent?, agent_status?, agent_note? } — set the agent badge (name + status pill) without moving the card. agent_status: working | fixed | blocked | needs-review.
  • comment_issue { id, author?, body } — append a markdown comment to the card's activity timeline (append-only).
