Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

CLI tool for switching between Claude CLI accounts

Readme

CAS — Claude Account Switcher

Switch between multiple Claude CLI accounts instantly. No more claude auth logout + claude auth login every time.

How It Works

Claude CLI stores OAuth credentials in the macOS Keychain and account metadata in ~/.claude.json. CAS manages named profiles — each storing a snapshot of both — and swaps them when you switch.

Requirements

  • macOS (uses Keychain for credential storage)
  • Node.js 20+
  • Claude CLI installed and working

Installation

npm (recommended)

npm install -g cc-account-switcher

curl

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/KagasiraBunJee/cc-account-switcher/master/install.sh | bash

From source

git clone https://github.com/KagasiraBunJee/cc-account-switcher.git
cd cc-account-switcher
bash install.sh

The installer will:

  1. Check prerequisites (Node.js, npm, Claude CLI)
  2. Install dependencies and build
  3. Link cas globally
  4. Optionally add shell integration to your ~/.zshrc

Quick Start

# Add your first account
cas add work
# → Opens browser for Claude login

# Add another account
cas add personal
# → Opens browser for Claude login

# Switch between them
cas switch work
cas switch personal

# See all profiles
cas list

# Show active profile
cas current

Commands

| Command | Description | |---|---| | cas add <name> | Login and save a new profile | | cas switch <name> | Switch to a different profile | | cas list | List all profiles | | cas current | Show the active profile | | cas remove <name> | Remove a profile (--force if active) | | cas setup-shell | Print shell integration function |

Shell Integration (Optional)

Adds claude --use-account <name> support so you can switch inline:

# Add to ~/.zshrc or ~/.bashrc
eval "$(cas setup-shell)"

Then use:

claude --use-account work "explain this code"

This runs cas switch work before launching Claude.

Security

  • Credentials are encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) in ~/.cas/profiles.json
  • Encryption key is stored in macOS Keychain
  • ~/.cas/profiles.json is created with 0600 permissions
  • All keychain access uses execFile (no shell injection)

Uninstall

npm uninstall -g cc-account-switcher
rm -rf ~/.cas
rm -f ~/.claude-*.json
