Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

clasecitas-vlv

Small utility-first CSS toolkit with Tailwind-like naming and a Bootstrap 5-style grid.

It ships plain CSS for any Node project and SCSS source for teams that prefer Sass imports. It does not depend on Tailwind CSS or Bootstrap.

Install

npm install clasecitas-vlv

If you also want TypeScript helpers and class-name types, install the matching clasecitas-vlv-types version:

npm install clasecitas-vlv
npm install -D clasecitas-vlv-types

clasecitas-vlv and clasecitas-vlv-types use the same version number on purpose, so the correct companion types package always matches the package version you install.

CDN Usage

Use a version-pinned CDN URL in production so your styles stay predictable across deployments.

<link
  rel="stylesheet"
  href="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/dist/clasecitas.min.css"
>

You can also use UNPKG:

<link
  rel="stylesheet"
  href="https://unpkg.com/[email protected]/dist/clasecitas.min.css"
>

If you prefer CSS imports:

@import url("https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/[email protected]/dist/clasecitas.min.css");

Avoid unpinned CDN URLs in app code and docs examples. When a new package version is released, update these versioned links to the latest published version instead of using @latest.

If your project also uses clasecitas-vlv-types, keep both package versions aligned.

CSS Usage

import "clasecitas-vlv/css";

Or with a stylesheet bundler:

@import "clasecitas-vlv/css";

SCSS Usage

@use "clasecitas-vlv/scss";

Examples

<section class="card flex flex-col gap-4 p-4 md:flex-row md:items-center md:justify-between">
  <div>
    <h2 class="m-0 text-2xl font-bold text-slate">Dashboard</h2>
    <p class="m-0 text-sm text-gray">Responsive utility classes, no framework dependency.</p>
  </div>
  <button class="rounded-lg bg-blue px-4 py-2 font-semibold text-white">
    Continue
  </button>
</section>
<div class="container">
  <div class="row g-2">
    <aside class="col-12 col-md-4">Filters</aside>
    <main class="col-12 col-md-8">Content</main>
  </div>
</div>

Scales

  • Spacing and gutters: 0..20.
  • Base unit: 0.25rem.
  • m-20, p-20, gap-20, and g-20 equal 5rem.
  • Grid gutter default: --cc-gutter-x: 4px, so each column gets 2px per side.

Responsive Prefixes

Classes are mobile-first. Unprefixed utilities apply to all screen sizes; prefixed utilities apply at the breakpoint and above.

| Prefix | Min width | | --- | ---: | | sm: | 576px | | md: | 768px | | lg: | 992px | | xl: | 1200px | | 2xl: | 1400px |
