Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Pick the Claude Code mods you want from one checklist.

npx claude-code-mods@latest

Tick the mods you want, see what each one adds, and press Enter to install. Untick a mod to disable it (its settings stay). Restart Claude Code after.

Community mods (made by other people, not maintained here) are listed last; each installs from its author's own marketplace at the latest version, so read its code first. Before installing new ones, it lists them and asks; the default is no, and no still installs the rest. Without a terminal it skips them (and exits 1) unless you pass --yes-community.

Flags

  • --pick a,b turns on exactly these mods (--pick "" turns all off)
  • --project installs and toggles for this project only
  • --dry-run prints the claude commands instead of running them
  • --yes-community installs picked community mods without asking; outside a terminal they are skipped without it
  • --help shows usage

It edits the Claude profile that claude uses here, shown at the top. For another profile, set it first: CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR=~/.claude-other npx claude-code-mods@latest.

Order your bands

Press o in the checklist to order your bands (the lines above the prompt). Move the cursor with up/down or j/k, move a band with Shift+up/down or K/J, and press Enter to save. Esc goes back without saving. The order goes to <config dir>/claude-code-mods/bands.json, where the config dir is CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR or ~/.claude. Restart Claude Code to apply it. Bands not in the file sit on top.

Notes

  • It shells out to the claude CLI (claude plugin ...), so Claude Code must be installed.
  • Needs Node 18+.
